Is it possible to create Wholesale Items in Square Online Store?

You know how Shopify has a section now that you can use on your square store for retailers buying wholesale?

Does square have that option at all?

My web developer is trying to get me to move to Shopify to use this tool, but I bet Square has something similar that we can work on.

It would look something like a separate section with the same items, but different prices, quantities and lead times.

We do not support wholesale items in the Square Online Store at this time. This would be considered a feature request. Although this feature isn’t currently available with Square, it’s a great idea and I can see how it would be beneficial to your business.

I’ve shared your feature request with our Product Team, as they are constantly improving our products based on feedback like this. To learn more about how feature requests work, please see this post from one of our Seller Community Moderators.

However, I did reach out to our Square Online Store Support Team to see if they had any suggestions in order to work around this. I'll share the information they provided to me below:

"If you'd like to list wholesale items, you'll need to create those as separate items. If you want these items to only appear for people with wholesale access, you'll need to mark those items as hidden then create a new page on your site, password protect it, and add all the wholesale items on the new wholesale page.

If you do plan to do this, you should remove any site search that you have because hidden items will still appear in site search."

Thanks so much Alanah,

I do hope that they come up with something. My developer for my site is pushing me to head over to shopify, as it seems like its is a simple plug in for a wholesale account there and I know of many businesses using it at the moment.

I would love to hear what your developers say in regards to this.

Definitely, only seems to be Shopify that is set up for it.

I need the wholesale feature. I've just started getting wholesale orders, and want a relatively seamless way to accept them. In fact, the feature exists in the app, and I've used it. So, please, Square developers, help us out here!
