Different shipping rates for different items

Is there a way to assign different shipping rates to different items?

For example, ITEM A costs $5 to post, but purchasing two of these items costs $8. But ITEM B costs $10 to post and purchasing two of these items will cost $15.

My shipping is not about weight, it's about the size of the item and I can't seem to find the best way to do this.

I don't think there's a direct way to assign a shipping rate to different items, but you can achieve the same thing by creating a shipping rate by overall weight. This would require you to assign weight to your items, then the shipping rate will calculate based on weight-based rules you set up.
