Password protected pages and url query strings

Does anyone know if it is possible to have a password protected page where you can pass the password through URL query parameters? What I'm aiming for is for this link to pass the buyer straight to my page instead of being prompted for a password.

I've tried the obvious: https://MYURL/PASSWORD-PROTECTED-PAGE?password=mypassword

Ideas?
