Setting up a new item with multiple options and being able to select more than 1 option at checkout

I have lets say 3 different boxes, say blue, red and green to sell and they come in small and large I set my item with options but when I go to the checkout and select the item, I can only choose 1 box either large or small but I need to be able to add say 1 small red box and I large green box to the sale. Can this be done without having to select a new item for each box?, it is driving me crazy trying to figure it out. Any advice would be grateful

I suggest using two separate sets of options to apply to the item: one set for size, and the other for color.
