Why do new categories have long URLs now with long codes at the end instead of simple number?

Why do the new site categories now have long codes at the end instead of a simple number? This makes it worse for sharing links ☹️

Is there any way to get around this (without using an external way to get a short url)

E.g. previously: https://www.handmadehaven.com.au/shop/birthday-wishes/106
Now: https://www.handmadehaven.com.au/shop/hey-buttercup/WO4IT6NO4HRG2F2E7ZHZYMGI

Hey @Girlvic 👋 Thanks for your post.

Currently, while you can customise the URL for your Shop All page through the Site Editor’s Page settings, there isn't an option to modify the category links directly. To share shorter URLs, you’ll need to use a third-party link shortener like Bitly or TinyURL.
