How can I offer a gift wrap option to customers placing orders through my website?

We have a small boutique and are using weebly.com as our website platform. At check out, we would like the option to allow customers an option for gift wrapping and insertion of a card--especially with the holidays coming up. Can anyone tell me how to do this? It seems the developer would provide that for us.

Great question @miriamsatz !

I don't think there's a way to do it at checkout, but you could add an optional modifier to each item for giftwrap with the option of charging extra. With weebly/Square Online Store I believe you can do a Text Box modifier that you can use for a message to write in a card!

I second this request! Also, to add a feature to select which items in the cart that need to be gift wrapped.

Adding a modifier to each item is not a viable option for me, as we have over a thousand SKUs. Thanks for the suggestion!

I tried to create a modifier or options however it effects my inventory. It wont allow me to this unless I add inventory against each option. Since gift wrapping it not an item I can do this with I cant figure out how else to provide this service. Its really not an ideal set up and very clumsy linking to weebly.

I can think of a way to accomplish this - let's run through this together @skd 😊

You'll start by editing your item through the Item Library within your Online overview page, then scroll until you see the Modifiers section of the Edit/Add Item page:

Click Manage modifiers, and on the next page, click the + Create New button to get this pop-up:

Be sure to select the Selecting from a list option, then name your option. If you want to offer multiple types of gift wrap, feel free to add multiple choices, as shown below. If you only want to offer one gift wrap choice, add one, then Save.

Once you've saved your modifier, it will be automatically applied to this specific item, but is also now available to apply to any other items you'd like to add it to! Be sure to press Done in the top right-hand corner of this screen to return to the Edit/Add Item page.

You'll now see Gift Wrap in the Modifiers section of the Edit/Add Item page:

I agree! Gift wrap should be an option at checkout, not something that has to be added to each item (and we have several thousand). This would be really helpful as we have a toy store and, during normal times, have people stopping by to pick up a gift on the way to the party. Adding another modifier to every single item seems clunky.

We have a small store as well and offer gift wrap. To keep our online site free, we added the gift wrap as an item. The customer can choose one of our several gift wrap options and add it to their cart at no charge.
