I have square POS and Square online so that I can sync my inventory. But frankly I'm disappointed in the customization options for my site. Does anyone know how we can access modern templates for our sites with weekly/square? On top of not being able to use after pay/sezzle I can't have fun and unique site.

HI, the Square Online Store editor gives the business owner creative control. There are no designer pre-made templates available and there are no ready-made templates to purchase.

Not enough control however. For example: my featured category section only allows for a max of 2 columns and I’d like more.

I would rather have a template that offers me options than limited “control”.
Something as basic as the main banner doesn’t actually adjust for the mobile version. I have to choose my banner based on what will fit in both sections; which means a smaller graphic.

HI, the featured items has 4 different layouts with choice of 3 different sizes. When you are in the Editor scroll down for additional options, customizations, etc. Click on everything and add sections, pages, stories, etc. Each comes with several layouts, sizes and colors. For a graphic to fit for desktop and mobile, the design needs to be able to adjust accordingly. If the graphic is cut off or placement is not the desired outcome, then the graphic needs to replaced, it is not the Editor or platform.
